Why Support ACS?

Do you know a child who has been cured of childhood leukemia, a woman who gets pap smear tests or a man whose prostate cancer was detected by a PSA test? If so, then you know someone who has directly benefited from the American Cancer Society.

I spend most of my days thinking about how I can raise more money for research, advocacy and services for the American Cancer Society. You, like some people may be wondering where all this money goes. Here you will find some useful facts to tell you how your donation will directly affect the lives of those battling cancer.

The American Cancer Society is the largest nonprofit, nongovernmental funder of cancer research in the United States, with more than $3.2 billion dollars invested in cancer research since 1946. The Society spends $120 million each year on cancer research and has supported more than 20,000 grants over the past 60 years.
